Experience Texas-Sized Fun at Splashway Waterpark & Campground

When it comes to creating family memories, Splashway Waterpark & Campground hits a home run. We spent three days at Splashway and between the waterpark, the cabin, and all the activities, I can’t think of a better way to have spent time as a family.

Splashway is located in Sheridan, TX. That’s just an hour and a half from Houston, an hour and 45 minutes from Austin, and just under two hours from San Antonio.

Splashway Waterpark & Campground Amenities

Splashway is both a campground and a waterpark. Here is a list of everything you can do at Splashway.

The Waterpark

Splashway’s waterpark is a thrill-lover’s dream, with 15 different slides that turn and twist and splash and drop you in dozens of different ways. In addition to the slides, there are two different wave pools (one for younger kids), a lazy river, a toddler area, a kid’s area with another ten slides, a baby area with eleven slides, an obstacle course, and a regular pool. With attractions for all ages, it’s a true Texas family waterpark.

Each ride has a convenient rating to let you know what sort of thrills to expect. Attractions range from a ‘low thrill’ lazy river to ‘high thrill’ slides that are a 40-foot vertical drop, or where the floor drops out from beneath you, sending you plummeting down a tube slide.

If you like to ride with a friend, Splashway offers a few different rides for two and even four riders.

There are plenty of cabanas available to rent, or you can snag a lounge chair or shaded picnic table. You’re welcome to bring a cooler (no glass or alcohol), or order food from one of the many cafes and food trucks in the center of the park.

Splashway offers a convenient ‘splash cash’ bracelet you can use for purchases throughout the site, so you don’t have to keep a credit card or cash on hand. The bracelet can be worn in the water, so it’s perfect if you stash your wallet in a locker, but still want to grab a bite to eat. You can use it for other attractions throughout the campgrounds too.

Camp Store

The camp store offers everything you could possibly need, from souvenirs to snacks to camping supplies – and even frozen and refrigerated meal options. You’ll check in and load up your splash cash bracelet here, too.

The Adventure Station

Putt Putt

Just outside the camp store, you’ll find a small but cute mini-golf range. The area is fairly shaded so you can even play a round before the water park opens.

Laser Tag

The outdoor laser tag field looks like a real combat zone with plenty of places to hide in and behind, and even a ship to climb up on for a higher vantage point.

Fishing

Rent a pedal cart for a fun way to explore the campgrounds.

Hiking and Biking Trails

There’s plenty of nature to explore by foot or by bike. Bike rentals are available if you didn’t bring your own.

Outdoor Games

Throughout the campgrounds there are tons of fun games to play. There are basketball courts, a gaga pit, a volleyball court, and tetherball. You can even borrow a ball if you didn’t bring your own.

There are also playgrounds, a jumping pad, and giant chess and checkers games.
