George Bush Park is a 7,800 acre park in west Houston. It features plenty of jogging trails, as well as a paved biking trail. Many of the trails run alongside Buffalo Bayou.
The park also hosts two soccer fields, six baseball fields, and a playground. There is a dog park, a boardwalk overlooking Buffalo Bayou, and even a model airplane field, operated by Bayou City Flyers.
The American Shooting Centers reserves 563 acres of land near the southeast entrance for shooting. The center provides shooting fields, a gun rental/purchase shop and lessons.
The playground has some unique play structures, including one shaped like a boat, so kids can pretend to be sailors, or pirates, depending on which way their inclination lies.
This is a great park for kids of all ages – older kids can ride bikes on the bike trail, or play on the sports fields, while younger kids will enjoy the playground and swings.
